Your probably thinking that this can’t be true given your hormones and gut health are two seperate issues, but I am here to tell you that is completely untrue.

Think of your body like a car. Just as all the important parts and systems in a car need to work together to keep it running smoothly, the different organs and systems in your body must cooperate for optimal function. When one part of the car isn't working efficiently, it puts a strain on the entire vehicle, impacting its performance. Similarly, when the gut isn't functioning properly, it affects all other aspects of the body, such as your hormones and thyroid function which can lead to heavy and painful periods.

The gut plays a big role in regulating inflammation and hormones levels in the body. Imbalances in the gut microbiome can disrupt these processes and may lead to increased inflammation and hormonal imbalances, causing your painful and heavy periods.

Poor gut health can also affect the thyroid by causing inflammation and increasing the chance of leaky gut syndrome. This can lead to low thyroid function which can have an affect on the heaviness of your bleed.

So what should you do?

  1. Address your gut health

  2. Start supplementing with essential viatmins like zinc, magnesium and B-Vitamins to support your thyroid and hormones

  3. Work with a coach to help you get to the root cause of your issues
