Probiotics. Do you actually need them?

I am sure if you go through your medicine or supplement cupboard right now you probably have a bottle of probiotics sitting there that you picked up from the chemist to “fix” your gut.

Now, I am not saying probiotics are bad, because no, they can be beneficial when its the right time and the right probiotic tailored to you.

Random use of probiotics, especially bad quality ones you pick up from the chemist, may actually disturb the delicate balance of bacteria in the gut, potentially worsening your existing symptoms.

It's important to approach probiotics with caution and consider them as a supplementary measure rather than a cure-all.

They should ideally be used to replenish beneficial bacteria in the gut after addressing underlying issues such as bacterial overgrowths, fungal overgrowths or parasites.

So put the probiotics down and focus on healing the gut first.
